One of the things I actually like about most midwesterners (myself included, not to toot my own horn) is our ability to adapt to the crazy weather. The day we had this shoot for nineteen family members scheduled was one of those freaky weather days where it was cold, then warm, then raining, then windy, then sunny again, then dark….all in the span of the one hour we spent together in Forest Park. But this had to be the day and it was definitely the best spot to get the job done. So what did I do? I brought lights, kept my wits and my sense of humor about me, and we all had a good time (except the baby, who seemed peculiarly detatched from the whole affair.) I digress. Anyway, the photos turned out pretty good and, for the most part, they all sort of look like they were shot on the same day. Many thanks to Kelly for referring the client, Julia for suggesting the location, and, above all, the wonderful extended family who you see pictured here who also kept a great sense of humor about the whole thing and posed beautifully on command. My clients are the best and I feel so lucky to have each and every one of them!
